I don't think your description of the Android situation is quite correct: as I understand it, Google stopped supporting Miracast after Android 6.0 or so. Miracast will not work unless the manufacturer of the device tinkered with the stock OS to enable Miracast, which is often not the case. (I can personally verify Miracast being disabled on Motorola devices, running Android 9.0). It would be extremely valuable to know which phones and tablets still enable Miracast (I know, from personal use, a relatively new ASUS tablet--from 2017--works with Miracast.)

    Tracie,

Most Windows 10 laptops support Miracast.

An easy way to check would be to hold down the "windows logo" key and tap the "k" key which will bring out a connect panel that allows you to select the ScreenBeam receiver if Miracast is supported. (If you already have the ScreenBeam adapter).

The other option would be to check the specifications for the laptop or contact Dell to verify Miracast support for that particular model of laptop.

    Wajid,

You would need to check the specifications of the phone in the user manual or contact the manufacturer to verify if it supports miracast.

    Chris,

You would need to contact the manufacturer to verify if it supports the Miracast functionality. You can also check the specifications at the Wi-Fi Alliance site by placing your device model number in the product finder.

    Eric,

Miracast is an OS-based module software. You would need to check with the Ubuntu developers to see if it has integrated Miracast support.
