In order for your Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 device to connect to the ScreenBeam Mini 2 receiver using the ScreenBeam Configuration Utility, you must have made at least one successful wireless display connection to the ScreenBeam receiver first. You must disconnect from the ScreenBeam receiver before attempting to use the Configuration Utility.

Similar problem. With Windows 10 on laptop my settings show screenBeamMini2 is a connected device but then how do I proceed? Nothing to show how to use it or turn in on. I switch to the correct TV input but the screen just says go to the web site to operate. My windows display does not show a connection.

Mine is doing the same thing as Victor's. It'll say action tec on TV screen then shutoff shortly after that and start over again and again

If using a USB port from the TV (or other device), please try connecting to the included AC wall adapter instead. USB ports on some devices will not provide the required power/amperage to effectively run the ScreenBeam Mini 2. If the issue persists please contact Actiontec by clicking the “Submit a request” button at the top right. An Actiontec technician will respond to your request as soon as possible, Actiontec support is available Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm MST.
The utility turned my screenbeam off after an upgrade and now the device won't power back on. I have tried unplugging and plugging it back in multiple times

I apologize for the inconvenience, it does sound as if something has failed during the upgrade process. Please try to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to attempt to reset the receiver if you have not already done so. If the reset does not work please create a request using the "submit a request button at the top" and provide the following information to expedite the process.

That may be English to someone who knows how to make ScreenBeam work, but to someone who is having trouble, as I am, it does not communicate anything. What does " disconnect from the ScreenBeam receiver" mean? Does it mean unplug the ScreenBeam receiver from the TV? Does it mean go into the running Apps section on my Android and make sure the ScreenBeam utility is off? It could mean lots of things, and you don't say.

When connecting with the screen beam mini 2 using smart view on my samsung galaxy s6(Android version 7.0) I can not get any audio. The picture is fine but no sound when playing videos or music. I have tried other phones (Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android version 5.0.1) and still the same thing, picture/video but no sound. How do I fix this?
Also, the screen beam doesn't connect to the configuration utility app for this product either!

I apologize for the frustration, however in most cases the solution will be specific to the device as some users are on an Android Platform and others using Windows causing the solution to be device specific.
Maybe I can offer some suggestions. The Screenbeam documentation is terrible -- it assumes you know what you're doing, so it tells you to do that which you know to do. Problem is, if you don't know what to do, it is no help. The Screenbeam configuration app does one thing and one thing only -- establishes settings. It does not, repeat DOES NOT, connect your tablet or phone to Screenbeam. To connect to Screenbeam, first, plug the Screenbeam into the video device and wait until the (TV) screen says ready to connect. Then, on my Motorola phone, click settings, then display, then Cast Screen. On my ASUS tablet, it is a little different. Get to the (TV) screen as above, then click settings on the ASUS, then More, and then PlayTo. I'm sure every device has its own method, but the key here is you want to get to something, within your phone / laptop / tablet device, that connects to the wifi-like signal that the Screenbeam signal is emitting, and Screenbeam configuration does not do that. Maybe this will end some peoples' frustration.

This is ridiculous. Someone just needs to walk us through the Window 10 setup. Maybe there are firewalls or something that need to be turned off or on. Every device is ready to connect and trying to connect. I just get a message after a minute of two that says "something went wrong"
There is on thing that helped me is that I changed hdmi from custom to DEFUALT.Doing this has helped me recieve connection from smartphone to TV every time I use it....IT'S WORTH A TRY!
Just got my screenbeam kit and it wont connect to receiver. Going to send the pile of crap back tomorrow. Every help link i tried on actiontech site is blank. Clicked on "add receiver" link and it asks for a 16 digit pin that it says is on the packaging, it is not. it says it will be the same as the one on the TV screen, it is not as that only has 10 digits. Feeling ripped off.

Hi, I am trying to connect my Thinkpad laptop (Windows 7) to my TV through ScreenBeam Mini2 but the Intel WiDi cannot detect any wireless display device! Although I can easily connect my Android phone to this ScreenBeam Receiver.

I solved it by switching to windows 10.
I figured it out by allowing incoming connections. You have to allow incoming connections because Windows 10 will ask if you want to accept incoming commands. Go to the firewall and uncheck "block incoming connections". Simple fix that took me 2 hours to figure out.
