There are potential DOCSIS 3.1 issues with any version of MoCA (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.5).
This is because DOCSIS 3.1 establishes new downstream and upstream frequency ranges. The overall frequency range will be extended in two stages: first to 1218 MHz and then to 1794 MHz. These improvements enable DOCSIS 3.1 to achieve transmission rates of up to 10 Gbit/s in the downstream and 1 Gbit/s in the upstream. Anything basically above 1 GHz can conflict with MoCA.
The only solutions we can provide are:
- Place a MoCA PoE filter on the coax cable that connects to the modem on the outside of your home.
- If your house has a dual coax setup (2 coax lines running to each room) you might be able to set up your Cable TV service on the 1st coax network and the MoCA service on the 2nd coax network.
- Ask your ISP to change the frequency that they are using so that it does not interfere with that of the MoCA devices.
