We have discovered that if you change your ECB6200 HW 4A (hardware version 4A) IP address configuration from the default of "Static IP Address" to "DHCP" you will unintentionally ruin your device. We are working on a firmware upgrade to fix this issue but until this firmware upgrade is released please do not change the IP address configuration from the default of "Static IP Address" to "DHCP".
At this time it is only affecting the ECB6200 HW version 4A branded for ScreenBeam. This does not affect the ECB6200's HW versions 2a, b, or c branded for Actiontec.
Keep in mind that most users will not need to change this setting. This is more of a setting that advanced users would make. Because changing this setting does not help or hurt how the unit will work when connected to your network.
Since the process for applying the fix for this issue is a two-step process and can sometimes be confusing and complicated we are asking the customers who want to change the IP address configuration from the default of "Static IP Address" to "DHCP" to contact technical support, either by opening a ticket or calling us, so we can replace your unit with a new unit that has the fix applied to it by our team and has been tested and confirmed fixed by our team.
If your device has a firmware of 2.20.4 the fix has already been applied to your ECB6200 and you can enable the DHCP setting without contacting us.
